Key Information

The island country consists of Grand Cayman, which is the largest and most populous of the trio. The Sister Islands of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, lie approximately 89 miles east-northeast of Grand Cayman and are separated from each other by a channel about seven miles wide.

The Cayman Islands lie 480 miles south of Miami, approximately 1 hr 10 minutes flying time.  The three islands are located just 149 miles south of their closest Caribbean neighbor Cuba, and 167 miles northwest of Jamaica.

The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Territory, with a population of approximately 60,000. The GDP per capita is the highest in the Caribbean. The government is committed toward attracting inward investment and the main industries are financial services and tourism.
