Caledonian has been managing captive insurance companies for over twenty five years. Caledonian Insurance Services (CIS) has operations in the Cayman Islands and in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) with partnerships in Bermuda, Guernsey, Gibraltar and Singapore. With annual premium under management in excess of US$940m it is one of the largest independent managers in Cayman and BVI.

CIS employs a dedicated team of specialists with expertise in risk management, insurance and accounting and deals with the formation and administration of a portfolio of a diverse set of captive insurance clients. CIS provides the full range of captive insurance management services including captive consultancy services to companies and individuals interested in reaping the benefits of increased risk retention.

CIS benefits from its close association with the Caledonian Group, which offers a comprehensive range of personal and confidential services to individuals and corporate clients, including administrative services for all types of offshore companies, banks, trusts, mutual funds and investors. In addition to managing traditional captive insurance companies, over the years CIS has built up particular expertise in establishing and managing segregated portfolio companies or SPCs (sometimes known as protected cell companies or PCCs in other jurisdictions), and currently manages in excess of a total of forty segregated cells.
