The Isle of Man is situated in the middle of the Irish Sea, bounded by the sea coasts of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The Island is roughly 230 square miles in area and has a population of approximately 80,000. It is easily accessible from London by air and from many other airports in the United Kingdom and by sea from Liverpool and Heysham.

The Isle of Man is an internally self-governing British Crown dependency. The government was established over 1,000 years ago and is the oldest continually established government in the world. Although it is not part of the EU, the Isle of Man has a special and limited relationship allowing free trade with the EU.
