Experience a powerful new commemorative display of ceramic poppies at the heart of the Tower of London, honoring the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Nearly 30,000 of the original poppies from the 2014 installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red will return to the Tower, symbolizing the immense sacrifices made during the war. This specially commissioned installation will take the shape of a ‘wound’ at the Tower’s center—an echo of the damage it sustained during the Blitz. The poppies will cascade across the lawn beneath the historic White Tower, forming a striking crater with rippling waves of red. Set within the Tower’s ancient walls, the display serves as a poignant reminder of war’s lasting impact, providing a space for reflection and remembrance during this significant anniversary year. On loan from Imperial War Museums, the poppies were originally designed and crafted by artist Paul Cummins, with this new installation created by designer Tom Piper.
