Poised above the River Tay with the Grampian Mountains forming a distant backdrop, Scone Palace was once the capital of the Picts and has been the seat of parliament and the crowning place of the Kings of Scots, including Macbeth and Robert the Bruce. Before continuing to the Highland town of Pitlochry, rich in history and beautiful scenery, it’s not surprising that Pitlochry is one of Scotland’s most popular holiday destinations. On our return journey, we visit the famous Queen’s View, Falls of Dochart, Loch Tummel, Aberfeldy, and through the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, via Loch Tay and the Falls of Dochart.
