Whilst the traditional seaside resort of Blackpool is a much-loved holiday destination all year round, it famously comes to life from August to January when its nights are a dazzling array of lights and shimmering displays.
Starting out with 10,000 lights back in 1912, the annual lighting extravaganza now sees over one million light bulbs dazzle along the seafront for almost six miles. In 2025 the Illuminations will see a trio of smoke-breathing dragons as its new centrepiece by the Blackpool Tower and there will be a range of new open-air art installations to experience.
