Coach Holidays & Breaks to the Lake District

Scenic breaks to the Lake District by Coach

Book a coach holiday visiting the picturesque Lake District, the largest National Park in England, and home to Scafell Pike, the country’s highest mountain.

With its beautiful countryside, the Lake District is now designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting millions of visitors every year from all over the globe. There's so much to admire - the snow-capped mountains, crystal clear lakes and breathtaking scenery. The area contains some of the largest lakes in the UK, including Wastwater, England’s deepest lake with a depth of 259 feet.

Short breaks to the Lake District

The Lake District is full of fantastic towns and villages for you to explore, including:

  • Keswick - This bustling yet charming town offers stunning views of the lake and the mountains nearby. You can explore Moot Hall (complete with quirky clock!), and for outdoor enthusiasts, there's a host of trails, parks, and activities. Hikers will love Skiddaw and Blencathra, two of the highest peaks in the area.
  • Ambleside - A small but popular location with beautiful shops, lovely restaurants, a cinema, and renowned for being one of the best bases for exploring the Lake District. Maybe in the summer months, take a horse drawn carriage from Ambleside to Waterhead Pier, or take your camera to the spectacular Stock Ghyll Force - the awe-inspiring 70ft waterfall.
  • Bowness-on-Windermere - Situated on the shore of Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere is a thriving holiday town, popular with tourists. Here, you'll find hundreds of shops, and many fine cultural and historical attractions. The views across the lake and up the mountains are some of the finest you'll find in the Lake District.

You can also discover quaint villages, such as Hawkshead, with its narrow streets, cobbled courtyards, and pretty white-washed buildings.

Experience a fantastic shopping experience in the Lake District with its selection of independent shops, charming shopping arcades, and unique gift stores.

What's included in our Coach Holidays to the Lake District?

Our Lake District short breaks include hotel accommodation on a bed & breakfast or dinner, bed & breakfast basis, and feature memorable excursions. Some of our short breaks also include evening entertainment and special drinks offers.
