The Isle of Wight Experience: Why This Island is Your Perfect Summer 2024 Getaway

Still thinking about booking your summer holiday?  You’re leaving it a bit late aren’t you?

Did you know, the Isle of Wight as a summer destination is a fabulous choice for people wanting to book a last-minute holiday? With its diverse range of attractions and vibrant culture, as well as picturesque coastlines and rich heritage – it promises a getaway full of excitement, and long-lasting memories.

Here’s why…

The Isle of Wight Experience

Action or relaxation – the choice is yours

Firstly – getting there is easy.  Being just across the sea from the south coast of England, it’s far enough to feel like you’ve gone away, but close to home to not be too far away.  And it’s not expensive either – travelling by coach to Isle Of Wight offers great value for money, and you get the convenience of leaving the car at home, relaxing in a reserved seat, and getting dropped off at the door to your hotel.

When you arrive, there’s its gorgeous villages that are laid-back and charming, with an ambience that’s hard to beat and attractions to excite.  Take the stunning Shanklin for instance. A beautiful area with a quaint Old Village that’s worth spending time in, and a golden sandy beach considered one of the best on the island. Down there it’s full of coves and awash with all you need for an action packed or relaxing afternoon. It’s got an amazing esplanade with mini golf, arcades, fish and chips, ice-creams and waffles…with plenty of space to sunbathe.

Cool sunshine and cooler colours

Then, there’s Alum Bay, a spot so pleasing on the eye it’s hard to turn your head away. With crystal clear waters (great for swimmers and paddlers), its famous for The Needles chalkstacks, and its stunning 21 shades of different coloured sands. The history behind how those colours have come to be is fascinating, and it really is an area of the Isle Of Wight that you need to see to truly believe.

As for climate, in summer it can reach nice British summertime highs, but it’s probably considered quite mild for a seaside resort.  So don’t worry if you don’t like it too hot. That said, when you book your coach holiday to the Isle Of Wight, remember to pack your suncream, and a breeze busting jacket!

Rhythm and Refreshment

If you enjoy food, you’ll love what the Isle Of Wight has to offer.  Dinner and breakfast are usually available at your hotel, but the island is known for its local produce and delicacies, so snacking around the island and visiting its charming café’s when you have some downtime is every foodie’s dream! Black garlic, gallybagger cheese, honeycomb doughnuts and crab pasties are all something to look out for!

Finally, The Isle of Wight is recognised by music lovers too. The island’s vibrant summer festivals, like Cowes Week and the Isle of Wight Festival adds to its lively cultural scene. World-class acts like Jess Glynne, James, Nile Rodgers and CHIC love it in the Isle Of Wight and keep returning to perform. But then, there’s entertainment everywhere you look on the Isle Of Wight – in it’s many bars, in your hotel, in its theatres and as part of many events the island is known for.

So, there you have it.  For your perfect summer break in 2024, why not visit the Isle of Wight?  It has everything for everyone – couples, friends, families and more. Travel by coach from your local departure point, and enjoy a holiday you’ll never forget. Book today!
