Take the Kids Away for Family Fun with Caledonian Travel this Summer

Summer is right around the corner! How many days in will it be until they say they’re bored? That’s the perfect excuse to book a Caledonian Travel coach holiday for some Family Fun this summer, for activities and exciting rides! Which one will you take them to first?

Family enjoying summer theme park fun

LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort

Who would have known that a Danish carpenter in the 1930s would have had such a cultural impact on the world and the imagination of children worldwide for almost 100 years? Ole Kirk Christiansen initially made miniature versions of his furniture, which led him to make toys, naming them LEGO, after the phrase leg Godt, meaning to play well.

No matter if you’ve constructed countless LEGO City sets with your children or even bought the Batmobile model for yourself, the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort is a treat for all ages. Is there a better time to visit, since the park is celebrating 30 years of building family memories this year?

Which attraction will you head to first? The Minifigure Speedway for thrills, the famous LEGOLAND® Driving School or the Pirate Goldwash? LEGO has been part of everyone’s childhood, so it’s okay if you want to go as well!

Tiger at Flamingo Land Zoo

Flamingo Land Resort

There might not be a more varied day out than Flamingo Land Resort, an attraction park that truly has something for everyone! The Peter Rabbit Adventure is great for little ones, as they will recognise him from the CBeebies show and, of course, the Beatrix Potter books. Older and bigger kids may prefer the range of thrill rides here, including Cliff Hanger and Mumbo Jumbo.

Of course, the Zoo at Flamingo Land Resort will bring a smile to all ages, with animals like the Tigers, Rhinos, and Penguins, all astonishing in their own right. You and your family can learn more about the inhabitants and the conservation efforts, how they live, and how Flamingo Land is striving to create a better world for these magnificent animals.

Alton Towers rollercoaster thrills

Alton Towers

If you’ve got bigger kids who are itching for some high-speed thrills… there’s only one option, Alton Towers. As one of Europe’s most acclaimed theme parks, this resort is a real boredom buster during the summer months!

The Smiler, Wicker Man and Nemesis Reborn all await the thrillseekers in your family, with their fast-paced twists and turns. That said, there’s plenty on offer for the smaller ones or anyone wanting a slower pace, with plenty of attractions at CBeebies just for them! That includes favourites like Bluey who has his very own ride here!

And with us, there's no tricky transfers to Uttoxeter or a long walk to or from the car park. You just enjoy the rides and attractions!

Disneyland Paris family fun

Disneyland® Paris

Or do you fancy a slightly longer break? How about one of our coach breaks to Disneyland® Paris? Whether it’s walking down Main Street USA, finding the best attractions in Adventureland or having your picture taken with Mickey Mouse in Discoveryland, Disneyland® Paris is truly one of the happiest places on earth. Taking the kids on Space Mountain, It’s A Small World, or Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blaster for the first time makes for a truly magical moment.

You may have heard that there’s a brand new area here too! Disney Adventure World has some great rides to keep the whole family entertained, with attractions themed on Frozen and stories from the Marvel Universe!

We run multiple coach holidays and packages to Disneyland® Paris throughout the summer - it's just about choosing when you'd like to go!

Penguins at Chester Zoo

Chester Zoo

As seen on Channel 4’s The Secret Life of the Zoo, Chester Zoo might be one of the happiest places in the United Kingdom. In fact, it was just named ‘Best Zoo in the UK’ by TripAdvisor! The chomp of a zebra having its lunch or the sight of a monkey swinging from tree to tree will surely make your kids smile – if not you as well!

Home to over 30,000 animals, there's more a few furry friends to meet . Your kids will LOVE seeing their favourites while meeting brand-new animals they’ve never seen before! There are laughing lemurs, breathtaking bears and mischievous meerkats – this truly is one of the best places for Family Fun during the summer school break.

Warner Brothers Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter

Calling all wizards and witches! And their parents! The Harry Potter books and films have touched the lives of many since the Philosopher’s Stone was first released in 1997, all the way to the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 – and beyond!

You can jump right into the magic of the series with this Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour to learn more about how they made the magic work on the silver screen. Learn more about how the filmmakers brought the magic of Harry, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger to life! Along the way, you’ll get to see authentic props and some original costumes as used in the movies! Potter fans big and small will love this immersive experience!

Cadbury World chocolate attractions

Cadbury World

Chocolate and attractions? Who could ask for more?! Cadbury World combines confectionery, costumes and a carnival atmosphere! Riding on the Cadbury Chocolate Quest, exploring the 4D Chocolate Adventure or making your own chocolate in the Have A Go Zone, this real-life chocolate factory is bound for Family Fun.

One of the highlights for the kids is when they get to join Freddo and Buttons Monkey to collect the ingredients needed to make a bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk! (Something even the adults wish they could take part in!)

To top it all off, you'll be able to dive into the indulgent history of Cadbury while enjoying plenty of tasty samples along the way! A truly unforgettable day out for all ages.

You Get More than Family Fun with Caledonian Travel

Why take the kids on a coach holiday then? There are plenty of reasons that make the experience easier for you and even the kids. Going by car can bring out the hunger, and the cries of "Are we nearly there yet..!"  – which isn’t what you want on a drive to Alton Towers or a car ride to board the Polar Express.

We run tours of all shapes and sizes for the family to enjoy a short getaway, with many including an overnight stay for longer journeys. And with free WiFi on our coaches, the family can be kept entertained through their devices for the journey! Which Disney film first?!

No Parking or Summer Holiday Worries

One of the best bits about travelling on a Family Fun break is not having to worry about parking. Theme parks are fantastic when you get inside, and you can plan to get there early...but often, so has everyone else!

So, getting a good parking spot where you don't have to a long walk can be tricky. What can be better than stepping off the coach near the entrance, and going straight in? With no worries about having to pay for the priviledge of parking either!

Your whole booking and ticket are all in the same place. When you book a Family Fun break with Caledonian Travel, your tickets come as standard, offering great value for admission and travel to the attractions!

As schools tend to break up for the summer in mid-July, and go back at the start of September there's no time to wait! Check your dates, show your kids where you can travel with Caledonian Travel this summer, and reserve your spots on a Family Fun break! There's no time like the present, and there's no present like a break with us for the family these summer holidays!
